During the 2016 firearms portion of Missouri’s deer season, I had the opportunity to use the Treestand/Blind Model of the Swagger Bipods. I was hunting with a Kimber Montana 6.5 Creedmoor which was a great combination to be hunting with out of a ladderstand. Having not much room to maneuver once in the stand, the lightweight Kimber with the Swagger attached, allowed me to have a steady rest without having to keep track of shooting sticks or other gun rests. I encountered multiple bucks that season, however, I wasn’t able to get a shot on the right one. During the last hours of light on the first weekend, I was able to harvest a mature doe out of the same stand. An 80 yard shot was a piece of cake with the Swagger Bipods Treestand Model providing me with a solid rest.
During that same week of deer hunting, I had an encounter while walking to my stand for an evening set. As I eased towards my stand location I caught movement of a doe moving through the timber. I hurried to fold out the Swaggers without being seen and while doing so I realized that the treestand/blind model was too tall for me when extended like the field model that I was used to predator hunting with in previous months. The treestand model allows adjustment from 9 3/4″ to 41 1/4″ a little too tall for this short guy.
After deer season was over, I suggested using the treestand model for predator hunting, to my good friend Eddie Owens who is approximately 6’2″ tall. “The field model has worked great predator hunting. However, when hunting on a slope, the taller treestand model works great on the ground for me, since I am a taller guy” says Owens.
Making a successful shot on a doe while hunting in a treestand as well as providing Owens with a more level rest while predator hunting on the ground are just two more examples of how the Swaggers Bipods are truly the most versatile bipod on the market. When shooting from the ground, in a tree, or being short or tall, the Swaggers are solid at providing the best possible shot all of the time.
